ZJU sprinter XIE Zhenye wins men’s 100m gold at Asian Games

In the Men’s 100m final at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, Chinese sprinter XIE Zhenye, a doctoral student at the Zhejiang University College of Education, blazed across the finish line in a mere 9.97 seconds, edging Thai runner-up Puripol Boonson (10.02) and Malaysia's third-placed Muhd Azeem Fahmi (10.11). This remarkable victory marked XIE Zhenye’s second gold medal in his Asian Games career, cementing his legacy as the third Chinese sprinter to claim the men’s 100m gold at the Asian Games, following in the footsteps of LAO Yi and SU Bingtian.
