Happy Chinese New Year 2023

To the ZJU community and our international friends,

Warmest greetings from the Office of Global Engagement for a Happy Chinese New Year!

2023 is the year of the Rabbit based on the Chinese zodiac, starting from Jan. 22, 2023 (Chinese New Year) and lasting to Feb. 9, 2024. As one of the twelve Chinese zodiac animals, the rabbit is not only cute, but also holds many interesting implications. For Chinese people, the rabbit represents hope, peace, life and longevity.  In ancient times, white rabbits were the symbol of national prosperity. Rabbits are also associated with the moon, because of the mythical Jade Rabbit who lives there. Thats why China's first lunar rover is called the Jade Rabbit.

May the year of Rabbit bring you an abundance of happiness and fortune.
