ZJU now No.6 in QS rankings of Asia's best universities

ZhejiangUniversity is up seven slots, from #13 to #6, in the Quacquarelli Symonds(QS) AsiaUniversity Rankings for 2020.
QSAsia assesses universities based on academic reputation (30%), employerreputation (20%), faculty/student ratio (10%), international research network(10%), citations per paper (10%) and papers per faculty (5%), staff with a PhD(5%), proportion of international faculty (2.5%) and proportion ofinternational students (2.5%), proportion of inbound exchange students (2.5%)and proportion of outbound exchange students (2.5%).
ZJUperformed strong in academic, employer reputation and internationalizationrelated metrics.
Anotherthree Chinese research universities from Mainland – Tsinghua Univesity (No. 4),Peking University (No. 5), and Fudan Univesity (No.7)- also made the top 10list. The top universities in Asia are #1 National University of Singapore, #2Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and #3 The University of HongKong.
Accordingto a statement by QS TopUniversities, “Mainland China dominates the rankings for number ofuniversities,with 118 in total and four among the top-ten: a remarkableprogress. Until 2015,only one university from Mainland China featured amongAsia's top ten.
