The 2010 national excellent doctoral dissertations were open to the public. There were 100 excellent dissertations and 334 nominated dissertations. Four dissertations of Zhejiang University were selected in the national excellent doctoral dissertations and another 12 dissertations were nominated.

The four national excellent doctoral dissertations of Zhejiang University were the fluctuation, imbalance and appreciation of RMB exchange rate by Doctor Yizhong Wang from College of Economics with the help of Prof. Xuejun Jin, the research of the Book of Sound and Meaning Compiled by Ke Hong——based on the Characters by Doctor Xiaojing Han from School of Humanities under the direction of Prof. Yongquan Zhang, Limit Properties for a Class of Stationary Processes by Doctor Weidong Liu from Department of Mathematics with the help of Prof. Zhengyan Lin and Shear Wave Velocity-Based Characterization of Soil Structure and Its Effects on Dynamic Behavior by Doctor Yanguo Zhou from College of Civil Engineering and Architecture under direction of Prof. Yunmin Zhou.

In additional, there were 12 nominated dissertations. Those authors were Prof. Shengming Ma’s Doctor Zhan Lu from Department of Chemistry, Prof. Zhizhen Ye’s Doctor Yujia Zeng from Department of Material Science and Engineering, Prof. Xiangning He’s Doctor Wuhua Li from College of Electrical Engineering, Prof. Haoran Li’s Doctor Yong Wang from Department of Chemistry, Prof. Yibin Ying’s Doctor Xiaping Fu from School of Biosystems Engineering and Food Science, Prof. Ying Zhang’s Doctor Yu Zhang from School of Biosystems Engineering and Food Science, Prof. Shaojian Zheng’s Doctor Chongwei Jin from College of Life Sciences, Prof. Xueping Zhou’s Doctor Ruyi Xiong from College of Agriculture & Biotechnology, Prof. Yizhen Wang’s Doctor Tizhong Shan from Institute of Feed Science, Prof. Xunhu’s Doctor Weidong Han from School of Medicine, Prof. Yiyu Cheng’s Doctor Yi Wang from College of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Prof. Zuhui Wang’s Doctor Xichuan Liu from School of Management.

It’s said that the selection started in Oct, 2009 and the selection objects were the doctor’ academic dissertations issued from Sep, 2007 to Aug, 2008, including some dissertations from Sep, 2003 to Aug, 2007. 630 dissertations were submitted for the review.
