2009 national doctor academic symposium was held in Zhejiang University

On the morning of Nov 8th, 2009 national doctor academic symposium (electric science and technology) was held in Zhejiang University. Nearly 150 doctors from 26 universities and institutions thoroughly exchanged their ideas about the hotspots in the development of the electric science and technology with their specialties.
The national doctor academic symposium, hosted by the degree committee office of state council and degree management and graduate education department of education ministry, is a great academic symposium for doctors and one of the major national graduate education innovation programs. The first symposium was held in 2003; while since 2004 the symposium has been divided into several branch forums which were sponsored by the universities with advantages in the different disciplines. 2009 national doctor academic symposium (electric science and technology), sponsored by Zhejiang University, is one of the greatest parts of the national doctor academic symposium. With the theme “focus on science and technology innovation, realization of the personnel value”, the symposium was composed of 24 sessions about 9 topics “high frequency power conversion and power quality”, “advanced power system technology”, “new motor and efficient energy conservation”, “conversion and control of the regenerative energy”, “high voltage and insulation technology”, “theory and new technology of electrical engineering”, “power system simulation and control”, “motion control and intelligent control”, “new motor and efficient energy conservation”.
The symposium advisory committee consisted of 27 academicians and 16 leaders of famous universities and institutions were appointed member of academic committee. Academician Geng Wang, Yinghao Zhu, RenYuan Tang, Guobiao Gu, Qixun Yang, Zhen Han and Yousheng Wang were at present. 12 deans and professors of electrical engineering from 10 universities presided the sessions. It’s said that there were 141 papers received in the symposium and 133 papers were accepted. The paper abstract proceedings and CD full proceedings were also published.
