Vice-Chancellor of University of Alberta visited Graduate School

On the morning of Oct 21st, Prof. Carl G Amrhein, Vice-Chancellor of University of Alberta and Prof. Mazi Shirvani, Dean of graduate school from University of Alberta visited graduate school of Zhejiang University. Prof. Jiaping Wang, Deputy Dean of graduate school received the guests.
Prof. Jiaping Wang welcomed the Canadian guests and gave them a brief introduction to graduate education of Zhejiang University. He hoped that both of the universities could enhance the cooperation such as the student exchange.
University of Alberta and Zhejiang University have cooperated with each other for ten years. Founded in 1908 by Alexander Cameron Rutherford, the first premier of Alberta and Henry Marshall Tory, its first president, it is widely recognized as one of the top universities in Canada.
During the visit, the two guests introduced 2010 scholarship to University of Alberta to our students and showed the requirements of the applicants (PhD only), application programs, language requirements, tuitions and scholarships in detail. The attendants were full of the hall and the meeting became white-hot when the Q&A came. The whole exchange lasted for almost 2 hours.
After the meeting, Prof. Maode Lai, Vice president and Dean of graduate school regaled the Canadian guests.
